Connecting Cuneiform Research and Structured Knowledge Through FactGrid

A path into connected records

Cuneiform research draws on artifacts, source editions, and descriptions distributed across scholarly systems. The FactGrid Cuneiform Interface provides an entry point for discovering records and following their linked metadata. TokenWorks’ contribution concerns the discovery interface and scholarly infrastructure integration.

The source remains authoritative

The interface connects users to FactGrid’s shared structured records and their source context. FactGrid remains authoritative for those records and for account permissions. A discovery interface helps researchers navigate evidence; it does not replace the source database or make every linked statement independently validated.

A technical collaboration

This work is described as a technical collaboration and integration. It does not imply a formal corporate partnership with every institution involved in FactGrid. Scholarly editing must continue to follow FactGrid’s supported tools, account requirements, and policies. This update makes no claim that unrestricted live editing is available through the interface.

An example of knowledge infrastructure

The project illustrates how research software can make structured knowledge more approachable while preserving the authority of the underlying community.
